Admiration for "Bob Wilson's Life and Death of Marina
Abramovic." Less clear is the thrust of Bob Wilson's
staged representation of Abramovic's life. Viewers
looking to understand Abramovic's history and work are
better off watching the recent "Marina Abramovic: The
Artist is Present," since the Belgrade-born performance
artist seems merely a supporting player in Colagrande's
understanding of Wilson's imagining of her life. Bob
Wilson's avant-garde "Life and Death of Marina Abramovic"
was jointly commissioned by Spain's Teatro Real and the
U.K.'s Manchester Intl. Festival. Showcasing the
director's mesmeric, rigid stagecraft and featuring
Willem Dafoe, Antony Hegarty and Abramovic herself among
others, the experimental work looks intriguing, but the
docu captures neither its power nor the excitement
behind its creation. (Giovanna Votano, Lido, Sept. 1, 2012)

si passa dall'estate all'autunno. Colori e atmosfere di un
festival dentro la crisi economica. (Giovanna Votano, Lido, Sept. 3, 2012)

It's early summer and Agathe is back in France, at home
in Montreuil. She has to get over her husband's death
and return to her work as a film director. The
unexpected arrival at her house of a couple of
Icelanders. Queen of Montreuil is a delicate and
light-hearted, sometimes melancholic fable-like comedy.
A tale of personal rebirth and discovery, Queen of
Montreuil follows Agathe, a film director, in her
psychological journey from widow who has lost her path
to returning to being the ’Queen’ of her own life. The
catalysts for this transformation are a peculiar mother
and son duo who get stuck on their journey home from
Jamaica to Iceland, a sea-lion, and neighbour.ps to make
the tale incredibly vibrant and more realistic despite
the paradoxical situations. (Giovanna Votano, Lido,
Sept. 1, 2012)
